20 hours of train riding, 1 hour of hiking, and one broken camera landed us in Roma!

As you can tell by the title we have been on a train for basically all of yesterday. We got on the wrong train in the morning which turned out to be a 3 hour delay in our Alps hiking adventure. By the time we finally made it to Zurich we had 10 minutes to make reservations for the night train and get on a train to go to Goschenen to hike. Its a good thing the Alps were amazing! The cities and villages were built into the mountains and the trains went through tunnel after tunnel right through the mountains. The lakes looked like blue toothpaste and there were green trees everywhere. You can also tell by the title that I broke my camera which makes me pretty upset. I dropped it on a rock and now it won't close so i don't know if i can post more pictures, I do know i can't take anymore pictures so it is up to Swan to capture our trip from here on out.

We are now in Rome at a laundromat picking up our dirty clothes and checking into our hostel. We had some pizza already and will be heading out into the heat of the day to see all that is Rome. We have our own personal tour guide in Ben so it should be great. Talk to you all later.

Hi Guys - I went to the Neuschwanstein Castle website - WOW...Adam I know exactly what you mean by the blue toothpast lakes - it's awesome. Sorry about the camera though. Bummer about the short hike in the Alps but at least you got to see it. You are only missing two weeks of 95+ degrees and humid here so have fun and say Hi to "Roma" for me. Now I am really jealous. Light some candles, say some prayers and greet Carlos. Keep your coins on hand for the vending machine wine - it's not so bad. Feel the spirit, but beware of the pick pockets on the streets. Love you guys, Ma Burns

Hello from Mom Swanson, OH Andrew I feel so bad that you are not feeling well, I hope your feeling better now, and that the rest of you are feeling up to par. Andrew if you get a minute ask Adam how he called, would love to hear from you. But if it's a big deal, please don't fret about it. Love the Blog.... Wow, thanks to the Stoetzel family from Andrew's mom, how nice of you to treat our boy's so wonderfully. Sounds like it was perfect timing. A little extra rest, home cooking and "family". Thanks so much for having them.
I haven't been to Rome, but I can only imagine how wonderful it is. Enjoy.......miss all of you. Can't wait to hear all of the stories and see all of the pictures. As always, enjoy your time, be good to each other and be safe.
Love and Hugs Mom Swan

I hope you guys enjoy Rome!! You should try and visit Paul's prison cell if you can, it's right near the capital (it's kind of hard to find...but when facing the capital "wedding cake" building, it's on the left, kind of tucked away) It was pretty intense to actually stand in the tiny cell where he was taken....

Have fun!! :) -Allie May

Adam, did you take my tennis racquet back to LaCrosse? I want it back before school starts. You can have the other two racquets but the one is specifically mine and I want to play tennis at school. I actually wanted to play tomorrow but (gasp) I am unable to find it!
